Over time, the skin loses its elasticity, and with repeated muscle contraction, and usually sun damage, the forehead and brow begin to droop and wrinkles can form. The overall result is a facial expression that appears fatigued, overwhelmed, and aged. A brow lift helps to reposition the brow and restore a more awake and youthful facial expression.
Dr. Deigni uses an endoscopic technique to lift the brow through small incisions made within the hairline. Using a small camera, the underlying forehead structures are visible thereby eliminating the traditional coronal incision and limiting the scarring and risk of alopecia. The brow and the forehead are lifted to provide a more open upper facial expression with smoother contours.
If performed alone, this procedure takes one to two hours and is performed under general anesthesia. There may be swelling and bruising for several days after the procedure and patients are typically able to return to work within seven to ten days.
